BRADY ANDERSON
Brady Anderson was a late bloomer in regards to music, starting lessons at age 22. Inspired to play bass by Bruce Thomas, Paul Simonon and Lemmy, he dove right in and began to progress rapidly. He started studying with professors and professionals, immersing himself into the instrument. He also started sitting in with local jazz musicians. Next step for Brady was the upright bass, after transferring to Utah State, he managed to purchase his first upright bass with student loan money. It turned out to be his best investment in his growth as a musician. As he became more proficient, he moved back to the SLC area and started getting a lot of work on upright and electric bass.
Brady has played in various groups throughout the state of Utah. He plays rock, blues, classical, zydeco, jazz, alternative, punk, country and bluegrass. His mantra as a bassist is inspired by Parliament, "One nation, under a groove, getting down, just for the funk of it."
Some highlights are performing in The Capitol building, KUTV Angel Tree Benefit Concert as a guest, The Depot, South by Southwest, The IAMA concert series, the Utah Symphony Jazz Quintet, The Utah Arts Festival, Major Tom and the Moonboys, Dusty Boxcars, Westminster Concert Bell Choir, Sundance, United Concerts, The Delta Center, TV performances for KSL, KUTV and Park City TV.
